I have a question about the gauntlets. Can they be split on both sides or is only one side allowed?

Another question. Are the shins the same length as the boots or is it like the standard Fett shins length?

I’ve decided to pick this project back up after all these years! I am however going to be switching over to the all red version that I’ve dubbed the Crimson Guard lol Here are my boots and I have the red fabric for the Kama and the red elastic for the shins ordered.
