Re: Questions About Helmets
From what I understand, the visor needs to be darkened to meet 501st Standards. Which can be done by buying some transparent film or screening, or removing and replacing the visor completely.
The helmet itself is 501st approved with the current paint I believe, but some members where saying that ...

Re: Rubie's Helmet Differences
I'm betting you could take a flexible motorcycle helmet, cut out the visor and put it behind the current visor. It'll be dark enough but still look red.
Actually, the rubies comes with a smoke tinted lense to start with, it just isn't very dark.... I'd recommend replacing it with the red mirror ...

The reason for the visor needing to be changed out is it is not a dark enough visor so as to obscure the wearer's features. This is a clear need to meet the CRL standards.
I'm excited to hear your full review about it when you get settled in.

Re: Rubie's Helmet Differences
I've heard the visor has to be modified, but I am a total noob and have no experience in the matter to rely on.

Re: Rubie's Helmet Differences
I'm interested in the new Rubies helmet as well, mostly because of the economy of it.
Lucious, does the rubies helmet just need modification to the visor to meet 501st standards?
Has anyone bought/held one of these? Are they sturdy? I know that rubies is mostly know for producing substandard ...

Re: Looking For a Bucket.
I noticed that an email to FP email got bounced back for me, as well as someone else in a different thread. Anyone know know if they are still operating?
Also I have read that MLC was doing some a while ago that were pretty great. Anyone have any info on that?
Thanks again,
